Mac Folkes

Mac Folkes, originally from NYC, now living in Berlin, consistently
jokes, that everyone he knows, he met at “the club.” From the Paradise
Garage to Berghain, Mac has spent a large portion of his life, getting
his life, on the many legendary dance floors of the world while meeting
the world.

As a founding member of Berlin’s legendary Techno Scene, Mac
manned the door and created the hype for Berlins proto-techno clubs:
Planet and Ewerk. Now as an elder statesman of the scene, Mac considers
his role to be one who draws connections and context while charting
progress and change. It’s this world that makes him keenly aware that
people of varying backgrounds can not only come together and survive,
but create and actually thrive.

By the light of day, Mac has spent most
of his life immersed in the international world of beauty and fashion as
a model agent and coach. His client roster includes Elite NY, Ford,
Women, Wilhelmina and countless others. His TV credits include Germany’s
Next Top Model, Holland’s Next Top Model and Ford Supermodel of the
World. His most recent post was Casting Director for Stefano Pilati’s
Random Identities. He has moved on to pursue a career as an artist
focusing his practice on race and culture.
